Spain's most established luxury corridor
The Golden Mile is roughly six kilometres of palm-lined avenue connecting Marbella's Old Town and Puerto Banús — anchored at the eastern end by Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe's Marbella Club Hotel (1954, the founding deed of luxury Marbella) and at the western end by Puente Romano (1979), the Andalusian-village resort designed by Melvin Villaroel around the 2,000-year-old Roman bridge that gives it its name. The Pirulí, a tall copper monolith brought by mayor Jesús Gil, marks the western threshold; Don Pepe (1963) is the only outlier high-rise on the whole strip.
The corridor reads in three layers. Between the beach and the N-340 sits the frontline strip: the seven-kilometre timber Paseo Marítimo, the Marbella Club, Puente Romano, and pioneer 1960s–70s complexes — Casablanca Beach, Las Cañas, Río Verde, Marenostrum. Between the N-340 and the AP-7 sits the gated middle: Lomas de Marbella Club, La Carolina, Alhambra del Mar (Villaroel again, early 1990s), Imara, Condado de Sierra Blanca and the marquee Mansion Club. Above the AP-7, in the foothills of La Concha, sits the residential top tier — Sierra Blanca, Nagüeles, Cascada de Camoján, Marbella Hill Club, Altos Reales, Monte Paraíso.
What the strip sells, and what nowhere else on the coast can match, is density of service per metre walked. Eleven restaurants inside Puente Romano alone — Nobu Marbella (Spain's first), Sea Grill, COYA, Cipriani, GAIA, Dani García's two-Michelin-star Leña and his Lobito de Mar — plus the Six Senses Spa, the Sala-Group beach club at Trocadero Playa and Coral Beach next door. Branded-residence inventory follows the same logic: AIDA by Bentley Home from €3.45M, Design Hills by Dolce & Gabbana, EPIC Marbella by Fendi Casa, OCHO DE ORO by Versace Home — all currently delivering on the corridor.
The Saudi footprint is structural. The King Abdul Aziz Mosque (Juan Mora Urbano, inaugurated 1981 by then-Prince Salman) sits between Marbella centre and the boulevard, and the King Fahd-era summer-palace complex is still cited as the largest private home in town. Apartments routinely clear €10,000 / m² and frontline penthouses trade well above; villas range €4M to nearly €20M depending on which of the three layers they sit in. Marbella Old Town is eight minutes east, Puerto Banús eight minutes west, Málaga airport thirty-seven, Gibraltar an hour. The pitch is the strip itself — walk to dinner, walk to the beach, never start the car.
On the Golden Mile a single kilometre is the difference between a five-million and fifteen-million-euro postcode — apartments now print €14,975/m², the densest concentration of UHNW per metre walked in southern Europe.

Hohenlohe opened the Marbella Club in 1954 with Bismarcks and Rothschilds at the bar; Saudi King Fahd built Al Riyad next door in the 1970s. The current register is the Gulf-meets-Northern-European inheritance of that — branded residences (Bentley, D&G, Fendi, Versace) selling to the same families that priced Sierra Blanca and Cascada in 2010.
111 sales averaging €4.75M in 24 months, apartments printing €14,975/m², frontline penthouses regularly clearing €10K/m² — the densest concentration of UHNW square-metre pricing in southern Europe. The whole pitch is service-density: 11 restaurants in one resort, two Michelin stars in the same chef, the only first-Nobu-in-Spain inside Puente Romano.
The Saudi presence is structural. King Abdul Aziz Mosque (1981, Juan Mora Urbano), the King Fahd palace complex still cited as Marbella's largest private home, the Gulf summer-residence pipeline that ramps every June. The current branded-residence wave — Bentley Home, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi Casa, Versace Home — is sold into the same flight.
